sisterhood of the traveling striped gap tee.

dear kelli,

i don't hate gap all the time. it serves it purpose in my life - sometimes.

take for example, the basic stretch tee. perfect layering tees. perfect basic piece. and then there's the time i found the same stretch tee in a red and white stripe. certainly wish i had that when i dressed up as where's waldo's girlfriend for halloween.

i've had it for years... but i didn't really discover how great that top was until just a couple weeks ago when i came back from mex, tan as could be... and feeling very springy/summery... not wintery. and now, i fight myself every day to find something else in my wardrobe.

{funny - i googled "gap red and white striped tee" and mr. google knew exactly what i wanted.}

so, go figure... i wore my stripes on saturday {again, feeling very spring-y} with a cardigan {salmon in color, if you want specifics}. no matter what i tried on - be it another stripe, or a pattern - at j.crew, anthro, banana republic, urban outfitter... the stripes looked great! i'm telling you - they're magic stripes. they don't really look like mix-n-match-able stripes... but they ARE! i even worked them with a skinnier gray striped cardi... magic.

so, thanks gap. thanks again for being great like 5 years ago when i bought that red and white striped tee.

p.s. another great red and white striped tee moment told here.
