europe, part ii.

from lausanne, we traveled by train through the alps
{speeding trains + thick glass windows = lame photos of amazing sights}

to a little italian riviera resort town called santa margherita ligure.
it was quaint.
and swanky.
romantic, i imagine... if you're not there with your mom.
{even still, she talks about what a great honeymooning spot that would be.}
and we had no idea what a delightful place we signed up for.

it was also the first {of many, many, many} gelato stop.
and i missed my chance at pear gelato... which i searched for feverishly throughout the rest of my italian vacation... only to be found again on the last day, after our last meal, on our last walk, on the last corner gelateria.
phew.
{and it was de.lic.ious.}

from santa margherita ligure, we took a bus ride along the cliffs of the coast line to portofino.
holy smokes.
it was heaven.
{and eva longoria and tony parker yachted there a week later. hmmph.}

i fear my ability to discern "amazing" from "really amazing" is waning, since everything about that trip was "amazing".

just wait until i get to rome and florence.
yikes.
