so you know how there are just those little things that make you laugh or smile? simple, silly little things that brighten your day. my friend S once shared her "simple joy" with me and to this day i remember how much we laughed in that moment. you know the pilsbury rolls that you pull and as it unwraps around the roll, all of a sudden it POPS! well that's her little moment. it's nothing special to many people but we even got the camera out to try and capture the look on her face at that second.
well today, i made banana muffins. only a few people have witnessed the banana muffin making process but my "simple joy" is definitely a part of this process. so today, as a peeled the frozen bananas and they PLOPPED out of their skin and into the bowl, i laughed out loud thinking of how many times that simple act has made me laugh.
i feel like this is the point where my dad would say "simple things amuse simple minds!" but it's so funny! you will have to try it for yourself to experience the simple joy! there are people out there who will vouch for me, i know it!

welcome.to.star.light.star.bright.
Xin Ciao!
Hi everyone! Thanks for coming to check out my first blog (kinda....more on that to come). I have been thinking about starting a blog for a while and so finally, here it is. I just want to be able to share my life and adventures in Vietnam (or wherever I might be) with my friends and family that I don't always talk to as much as I would like. It's hard to keep in touch with everyone, especially with a 11/12 hour time difference and this way I only have to tell the story once ;).
So first thing is first. I should thank the people that have inspired and/or encouraged me to start writing:
1. My parents, who encourage me to write (my updates to the wawa-news are my moms favourite thing ever I think...shhh...don't tell her I said that)
2. My roommate (from last year) Lindsay, who always told me to start a blog. "Em, just do it! It will be funny! And people will love it! Just do it!" So, I am! Also, Lindsay (and her mom Patti) are two of the few people I know that blog. And I enjoy reading their entries. So thanks, girls!
3. Patti again. For my beautiful header on my blog. You are a creative inspiration! Thank you!
4. All the crazy people in my life. You make me want to write - whether it's about you, or for you to read, thanks to you. I hope you will read and enjoy!
I suppose that's all for now. My very first blog. And I'm already thinking of my second, and third, and fourth.....
