What will our children read?
Call me prude, traditional, old fashioned and whatever else but I think we should be preserving books.
E BOOKS ARE NOT THE FRICKEN SAME AS PAPER BOOKS OTAY???
I honestly feel saddened at the prospect that our future generations will not have the opportunity to relish in literature by the beach in fear that they might get their IPad wet. Reading fiction, turning actual paper smelling pages and not knowing whats going to happen next in a book (because you haven't read the low-down online) is what I call one of life's simple pleasures.
Every time I turn around another book store is closing. We need to support our local businesses by continuing to buy books or one day they will be considered nothing but an antique. Furthermore, do we want young undeveloped eyes and brains staring at a screen that could be potentially harming their eyesight and mental development? I just think its sad how excessive society is getting. We sit indoors all day glued to computer screens to make more disposable income and then go and spend $500/$600 on something that does most of the things our phones or computers can do just so we can have a pretty touch screen and some really cool apps. Anywho... I guess there is a reason I am often called 'Hater Hayley'.
In conclusion, save the books!

the ted baker bag needed to go back to nordstrom for minor cosmetic surgery.
i walked into the handbag department, lamented to the shop girl about its fixes and she offered to fix it right away.
she told me, though, that it wasn't going to be picked up by the cobbler man until the weekend, so i could hang onto it until then, or i could leave it with her right then and she'd make sure it made its way into the week's fix-it pile. "some people are funny about it," she told me.
"hand over a shopping bag," i told her.
and i turned ted baker on his head and gave him a few shakes.
everything inside came pouring out in a hurricane of product and plastic.
it was the most liberating thing of my life.
and then i walked out with a paper bag on my arm just like anyone else in the store. business as usual, thankyouverymuch.
throwing an allowable fit like that was a great way to start the world's worst evening.

uwaarggh! 2 hari ni aku tidor tesangat lah dasyat ..kemarin tidor 20jam.rini tidor 12 jam.xtau la cover benda pa.but still dasyat jgak.lena dengan senang hati .gila lah.rekod aku! HAHA. bila bgun lapaq bebagai. adaikan benda yang ku nak sangat 2 muncul depan mata.waaaa~ seronoknya.terasa nk terbang ja.kring kring kring! sbb ngidam ak ni pelik2 sikit.mcm2 sangat sampai xleh nak balance.heeeee. tp aku nk kurus? mcm mna cita ni? ak nk sangat badan ak kembali mcm dlu dlu! sblm ke poly lg.waaaaa! rindu nya badan 2.hummmm.
tiba2 pulak masuk ke arah badan .bhahaha. oke la.nak golek2 bg tidoq balik.bebai*
i can do it... except for when you can't.
i'm pretty resourceful.
especially because i don't have a husband.
i have to be resourceful.
even if that means using other people's husbands.
but when all the husbands, dads and even uncles shuddered in fright at my latest fix, i knew i needed to pull out the big guns:
the savings account.
husbands, dads, and uncles have saved me from going there a hundred times before. heroes, all of them!
until i said the word "dishwasher"
it was like kryptonite to their souls.
weakening their super-human state nothing more than mortal men.
..... there isn't anything i'd rather be spending my money on than a fancier-than-me dishwasher.
you're all welcome to come over and use my dishwasher. i'm told it's life changing.
it better be.

The older the better.
Over the past few weeks I have been doing A LOT of vintage/thrift store shopping. I went to do some clothes shopping yesterday at the normal stores in the city and for the first time in ages I walked away almost empty handed.
I believe there are a couple of reasons for this
1. I have STACKED IT ON so things aren't fitting like they are supposed to =(
2. I have a curvy body type and that today's designers rarely accommodate for.
3. I am used to the quality of vintage clothing (they just don't make things like they used to) and I am not willing to part with obscene amounts of dosh for things that will fall apart after a few wears.
4. Things were cooler back in the olden days.
Anywho... I have decided to abandon regular shopping for a little while (other than the odd bit of ebay and $10 racks) and I thought I would take the time to celebrate some vintage stunners =)
