Life in General

Nothing new really to report this past week. Still looking for a job, it's been a month and I'm ready to go back to work. Still looking for a house to rent, with not much luck. Been trying to organize all my things (books, DVD's, action figure, etc.) while I have the time off. I did work one day this week on my old show Curl Girls. This show will never die for me. Still have a few more days to work on things to correct error on the networks part. Other than that not much going on.

台灣是個海島國家，四周環海，個性應該是屬於海洋般的容納百川，包容所有的事物。

這部片的內容拍攝地點有台北市天母的磺溪、台北縣白沙灣的鱗山鼻海岸兩地。這兩個地點也是台灣頗具觀光價值的景點。

這是在台北縣新店安康附近的台大實驗農場裡面的荷花田，相當大的一片。夏日在五、六月時間，荷花盛開，也吸引相當多的遊客前來。這段影片拍攝的時間在七月份，雖然荷花已經減少許多，但是也是讓人覺得有清新的感覺。


其實過去日治時代，日本政府在台灣各地區成立農會以及實驗農場，本來農會的性質就是以研發技術來協助農民在農產品的生產產量以及相關的種植耕作技術。但是國民黨進駐台灣後，反而利用農會資源，變相成為一種金融互助會組織，藉此來變成綁樁腳的一種利益團體，衍生出許多的超貸案件，導致後來台灣的金融風暴的出現，許多農會大量擠兌的情況。雖然之後政府用銀保的方式來進駐，但是資金的來源卻是全國人民繳納的稅金。就如中華商銀事件一樣，全民買單。

這是從小白宮出發，從售票亭門口往上走，再左轉進入真理街，這裡就是淡水真理大學的所在地，也是台灣第一個女子書院，由馬偕醫生所創立的。這也顯示出早期淡水地區洋人新移民對於這個地方在地化的努力，以及在文化上的幫助。就像日治時代，日本人在台灣的許多建設，為後來台灣的農業發展打下相當雄厚的基礎一樣。

這棟建築，雖然是近幾年建造的，但是外觀依照歌德式設計。但是實際考證，可能要請魚大去查察囉

淡水有一個古蹟園區，是蘇院長在縣長任內完成的。規劃的動線從淡水捷運站到漁人碼頭。因為淡水是個有相當歷史文化的城鎮，同時也是匯集台灣多元文化最早的地點，從紅毛城的荷蘭人、英國領事館、馬偕醫生等，還有大清國時代的建設，如台灣第一個火車隧道在關渡，大清國台灣巡撫劉銘傳先生所興建的，以及滬尾砲台等（與基隆、澎湖地區砲台同時期興建），也有日治時代，日本人所建立的水上機場等等。這都代表台灣四百年多元文化所遺留下來台灣文化遺產。

這一條觀光線已經成為北台灣假日最佳去處。而小白宮也是提供婚紗拍攝相當不錯的景點之一。

小白宮是前大清國淡水關稅務司官邸，整個建築風格反而呈現西班牙迴廊建築方式，也代表當時淡水洋人雜居之處，其實淡水不但有荷蘭人，也有西班牙人等歐洲人居住，這跟日本幕府豐臣秀吉時代洋人雜居在堺這個地方一樣（靠近大阪的海濱城市）。當時的台灣人接觸到的外國人比中國地區還要頻繁，因為這個稅務司由大清國聘請許多外籍稅務人員在此處理淡水港的許多海關事務，因此建築物外觀以白色為主，故有小白宮之稱。

這個景點跟真理大學、馬偕醫生墓園、紅毛城以及淡水河岸提防成為一個景點連線。可以讓大家清楚了解早年台灣洋人在淡水生活的景象。

Yesterday, i went out with bo nao and his friends. It's so nice of them to treat me dinner and i really appreciate it. :) Shopping in town with the couple was really something. They bought lots of things. :D Unlike me and bo nao, we only followed them around. haha. They are really fun people. :) We even catched a movie ' Ghost Tunnel', but it was a lame show. haha.

As for today, i'm down with stomachache. Poor me. :'(

Yesterday, i watched a show on channel 49. It was quite interesting. They chatted about women's love for shoes. Even if they owned a whole cardboard full of shoes, they will still feel that they are short of one or two pairs. =.= ''' Take kelly and caryn for example: whenever i go out with them, they are always tempted to buy shoes. haha. X) It's never enough!!!

In the show, they also indicated that those heels with shiny surface are most popular today. Kelly and friends all owned one pair, but it's killing their feet. haha. Placing some cusion inside the shoe can help to reduce the pain and that you must always keep your shoes in shape. ^^ After using the shoe, place it back into the shoe box and do not wear it too often. Lastly, make some cut at the base of the heels to prevent dirt from getting stuck. You can also paste those rubber base to feel more comfortable.

House Hunting

The past week we have gone and looked at several houses. One in Panrama City which was in a decent area and the house was really cut and exactly what we were looking for. It was listed as $1750 a month but when we got there the owner said she was raising it up to $1900 a month which is a bit to much for us.. so no luck there. We then went and looked at nother house in Van Nuys and the pictures looked nice but when we got there it was on a more rundown street and the house needed alot of work. So again another strike out. But we are still looking.

My Girl

Today, i went to bishan NTUC for some shopping. And guess what, i bought the wrong vegetable for my maid. :'( Left with no other choice, i made another trip back to the supermarket and make a refund. *faint* The sun was huge and shinning down sharply onto my eyes. Can you imagine staying at home for a whole week? Gosh, it's life. haha. You have the TV and computer all to yourself. It's call heaven. :D I have a good news and that is, i finally found a job. *whew* But it's only for 14 days next month. Well, that's all for today folks! ^^

"Little" Brother Outing

After a much to long hiatus I hung out my new "little" brother. His mom and I have decided that shorter visit will be best. So we went and played a game of bowling and some video games on this outing. Spent about an hour and a half and had a really good time.

Tom's Birthday Party and Play

My friend Tom turns 38 today and he was having a nice little dinner party. It was Tom's closest friends and we had a nice time then about 2/3 rds through dinner Batman.. yes Batman came walking up the stairs looking for Tom. Now Tom is a huge Batman fan so this was not a huge surprise but when Batman came up the stairs he was followed by a camera and audio crew. This person was dressed as Batman and doing some sort of reality show "My Life as Batman" and Tom's friend Bill just happen to see him out side walking past the resturant and ask if he would come in and surprise Tom. It was soooooo funny. It was a great ending to dinner. Next was Tom's play that he had written. The group from dinner along with a few new people showed up at the theater to watch Tom's short play. It was a lot of fun, there were six short plays and Tom's was one of the better ones. All in all a fun night of celebrating with friends.

Doctor Who Series Two on DVD

Got my Doctor Who Series Two on DVD today.. I was very excited. I really enjoyed series one of the new Doctor Who but this new doctor has grown on me. Got my DVD from Best Buy for $69.99 but had $65.00 in Reward Money.. so I really got it for $4.99.. not bad.

Trip up to the Cabin

We have been wanting to get up to the cabin for a while now and since I'm out of work for the moment we figured we would go during the week. For those who don't know my Mom and Step-dad have a small cabin up in Green Valley Lake, near Big Bear. It's the highest city in the San Bernadino mountains so we figured there would be snow this time of year. Well we were right, there wasn't much on the roads but plenty everywhere else. We go to the cabin and I did the normal things like turing on the gas, waterheater, electric and water but when I went the bathroom I found out that the toliet bowl and back half of the toliet were frozen solid, I could not believe it. We spent the next two hours pouring hot water in the toliet and trying to thaw it out so it was usable. We finally managed it and everything seemed to be okay after that. It wasn't the best start of a mini vacation but it turned out to me cold yet relaxing trip. It was also Daisy's first time in the snow and she really enjoyed it, which surprised us since she hates wet grass. So fun was had by all.

Monthly Game Night

Harry and I went to our monthly game night at our friends house in Pasadena. Our regular crowd (the guys we play games with everytime) were not going to be there other then our friend Tom so the night started off kind of slow. The past few years the game nights have gotten kind of clicky. There are certain groups of guys that tend to gavitate towards each other. Sometimes there is a crossover but most times the same group of people play games together. Well with our group not there Harry and I sat and chatted for a bit with each other in the living room and finally Tom showed up and got things going. We played a bunch of fun games with Tom and a few others.. the night started off slow but we ended up having a great time.

Living life to the Fullest !

Just now, i watched a will smith movie on star movies channel. It was awesome. I managed to catch the movie from the start but somehow, i missed the title.

Oh well, the movie is about will smith being targeted by some secret police force people. He was a lawyer and had got nothing to do with them. One day, when he was shopping for Christmas present for his wife at the bra shop, he meet his long lost friend. This guy got a tape which contained the killing of a political man by the head of the secret police. He then slipped the tape into will smith's shopping bag without him noticing. After exchanging a few words, he ran off. Unfortunately, he got knocked down by a truck while on his run and died. That is how will smith got into trouble. His credit cards and bank account got freeze, his wife left him after a fight and he had no damn idea why are people chasing him for something he did not have. Later, he met a guy which was once a secret agent working for the government. This guy helped him discovered all the tracking device on his clothes and shoes. Left with no other choice, they combined forces and fight back. The plan they used were too complicated for me to explain. ^^ Anyway, they won the battle at the end and everything was back to normal.

The reason why i spend the time typing all this out is because I'm too free and to improve my English. haha. The movie is really exciting and intense. haha. My posting may be boring, but at least i make an effort to blog! So don't blame me. haha. Lastly, this blogger is giving me a hard time. $#$%*^&(&*(

Going to the Movies

Well I finally got some free time and decided that I would go see a movie that I have been wanting to see since the middle of Dec. Eragon, it's based on a series of books. Of course it being the beginning of Jan I have heard things about this movie so going in I didn't have very high hopes. I mean I loved the books but heard that they movie is nothing like the book. After seeing it I have to say that I loved that movie. Yes it's a very condensed version of the book but most movies made from books are less detailed then the book. The SFX were AWESOME and the acting was good. Yes the story left out a lot of details but I think if you hadn't read the books you would still understand the overall story. I plan on buying it when it comes out on DVD.

Since I was at the movies and haven't been in quite a while I figure I would see another movie that I have wanted to see. Happily N'ever After, well I thought this movie looked cute from the previews but it's just okay. The story isn't that great and for that matter, there really isn't much a story. Also it wasn't that funny... it was trying to be a Shrek and it was no where near as good as the Shrek movies.

So I saw an AWESOME movie (Eragon) and a SO SO movie (Happily N'ever After).

House Hunting

Well we are still having no luck in finding a house to rent. We find houses that we can afford but they aren't in the best area and the ones we find in the better area are a bit out of our price range. As my friend Jonathan likes to say it only takes one.. I just hope that one comes sooner then later. I would love to move before I find a new job. Just in case anyone hears of anything we are looking for a 2 to 3 bedroom with a backyard for $1600 to $1700 a month. Thanks

Our group did it again! This time, we went to the Singapore Zoo. ^^ When was the last time you visited the zoo? haha. Mine was 4 years ago, with Kelly. The zoo have had a major change over and the animals were getting huge. haha. According to Kelly, we took 4 hours to complete the journey. I took tons of pictures so i'll not be posting all. :)) enjoy!

Dinner with Friends

Tonight Harry and I went over to our friends John and Moises's apartment for dinner. Joining us were our friends Tom and Bruce. It was a fun night, we celebrated the 12th day of Christmas and had goose. I had never had goose so it was intresting to try something new. It wasn't bad, tasted a bit like dark meat of a chicken.

The Golden Compass

Today I was finally able to watch The Golden Compass. I read the books right before the movie and I have to say I thought the first book of the trilogy was really good but had a very depressing ending. The movie on the other hand went very fast and they left out the final three chapters where the really bad stuff happens. I know they filmed it so maybe will get lucky and see it on the DVD since a sequel seems out of the questions due to the low numbers it got at the box office. I enjoyed the movie, I thought the little girl they got to play the lead Lyra was perfect. The special effects were awesome and I will be buying it when it comes out on DVD.

The Holidays are Over

It's that time of year. As much as I love the Holidays and Christmas I'm very happy when it's time to take all the decorations down and recycle the Christmas Tree. Took me about three hours today to pack everything up, but it's done.. at least until next Christmas.

New Years Day at Wally's

This has become our new tradition for New Years Day to go over to my Uncle Wally's house for a Mexican feast. Again this year it was a ton of good food and great company. Cousins Renee and Darren along with their families came as well as some of Wally and Dora's family. It was a full house but alot of fun. These people are crazy and it's so much fun to watch.

For New Years Eve Harry and I went to our friends Chris and Marks house out in Pasadena. We have done this the past few years and it's always fun. This year was a bit subduded but was still alot of fun. We hung out till about 2am chatting with friends but had to get going since we had to be up in a bit and head out to my Uncle Wally's house.
